About Me
About Me
I live in South Australia in the beautiful Adelaide Hills with my husband, two children and our Spoodle dog Charlie.
Our children have now grown up - Angus is 23 and Sapphire 21. My time is now divided between spending time with my family, gardening and holding card and paper craft classes. I also like to travel, host and plan parties, cook and dabble in the art of basic quilt making. I also love anything vintage or shabby chic.
I have been a scrapbooker for over 20 years and when I was introduced to card making with Stampin' Up!® in 2014.
I worked with Stampin' Up!® products as a Demonstrator for nearly 10 years. It's a pleasure taking classes, sharing my knowledge and learning from others. I have made some fantastic friendships along the way and value this dearly.
Over the past few years, I have accomplished achievements through Stampin'Up!® way beyond my personal expectations, including earning the 2022 and 2023 incentive trips as well as being awarded #6 Top Demonstrator in Australia for 2021-2022, and currently I am #7 for 2023.
We have become a wonderful crafty community with some great friendships.
I decided to leave Stampin'Up!® in March 2024 to take a different path which leads me to a new and exciting direction. I now can explore and utilize any products from any company without restrictions & limitations. This opens up a whole new world of creativity and there is so much to learn, try out and of course, share with you.
I like to offer that something extra at my classes and make ALL my customers feel special ( the ones that can attend my classes and the ones that attend virtually).
You won't just MAKE CARDS at The Maples, I try to make your visit a full sensory experience with relaxing music, beautiful fragrant candles, a spotless workspace with all your crafting tools supplied, delicious home made cakes & desserts and we often have gourmet pots of tea served in vintage tea cups. I like to make my customers feel relaxed and indulged - because our time is precious and this is special time out for yourself for a few hours.
During the warmer months, I offer and serve High Teas in the conservatory or in my garden. When it gets cooler, after our class we have home made soup and rustic bread by the open fire...BYO slippers are a must.
I also enjoy my Kid's Classes during the school holidays - children are so much fun, they always end up showing me new ideas and are so creative without any inhibition.
There is always a celebratory event that pops up during the year....Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day as well as my Catalogue Launch Parties where we make appropriate cards and 3D projects that are always followed by a festive feast.
I also offer private functions for small groups with Cards and High Tea. (Ask me about that HERE).
What ever your style or taste, I'm sure there is something here at The Maples for you. I hope you enjoy your visit with me and leave with some new ideas and inspiration.
Enjoy your day
Hugs,
Sharni. x
